Smooth corporate travel booking

Our company recently switched to Navan for corporate travel, and I used it for a business trip last month. Booking flights and hotels was pretty straightforward through the Mobile Travel App. The integration with our expense system worked well; I just scanned receipts with my phone, and it all went into the right categories. The real-time reporting was helpful for my manager, apparently. Support was quick when I had a question about changing a flight detail – got a response in about an hour. It really streamlined the whole process from booking to expense submission. Overall, a solid platform for business travel.

Reliable for business travel

This was our third time using Navan for group travel management, and it was as smooth as ever. We booked flights and hotels for our sales team's annual conference. The booking interface is consistent and reliable, just like previous years. My only minor issue was a slight delay in the real-time expense reporting updates this one time.

Good platform, minor hiccups

We implemented Navan for our corporate travel and expense management last quarter. The unified platform is really convenient; booking flights and processing expenses felt much easier. The Navan Expense cards have been a big help for our team. Delivery of the physical cards took a bit longer than expected, about 7 business days, but overall the system works well and has good value for what it offers.

Good features, a few kinks

I used Navan for a recent business trip and found the Travel Policy Automation very useful; it kept me within company guidelines without much effort. The Global Travel Inventory offered plenty of options for flights and hotels, comparable to other sites. However, the initial setup for connecting my corporate card took a bit longer than I expected, with some back and forth with IT. Once it was set up though, the expense tracking was pretty seamless. Value for money seems good for what it offers, especially for larger teams. I'd recommend it, but be prepared for a slightly involved onboarding.

Saved money on my first trip

This was my first time using Navan for a work trip. I was looking for the best deal on flights and hotels. The platform showed clear options and I felt like I got good value for the company. It was easy to compare prices and choose what worked best within our budget. Happy with the savings.

Easy to use for trips

Just used Navan for my work trip to Seattle. Booking the flight and hotel was pretty simple, didn't have any trouble. The app made it easy to snap receipts for expenses too. It felt pretty straightforward and saved me some time. The only small thing was that finding specific train options wasn't as clear as flights.

Decent value for a new user

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best value for our company's new expense system. We got a good new customer incentive, which helped make the decision. The automated reimbursements work well, saving our finance team a lot of time. The overall value for money seems good, especially with the smart corporate cards. I just wish there was a clearer breakdown of potential volume pricing tiers upfront.

Comprehensive but needs small tweaks

I used Navan for a recent business trip, covering flight booking, hotel, and car rental. The initial setup for our company's corporate cards was straightforward, and the mobile app for expense reporting worked well on the go. I liked the global travel inventory options, finding a good flight to London easily. Support was responsive when I had a question about a specific hotel policy. The only thing I noticed was that the per diem management feature felt a little less intuitive than the rest of the platform, requiring a few extra clicks to confirm daily allowances. Otherwise, a solid experience for managing all aspects of the trip.

Hey, anyone know how long it usually takes to get Navan set up and running for a medium-sized company? Trying to figure out our timeline.

J Joseph Nguyen 3 weeks ago
From what I remember, it wasn't too bad. I think for our team, which is about 100 people, it took a few weeks to get everything configured and rolled out. The card setup was pretty quick once we got the info in.

Yeah, I'd say plan for maybe 2-4 weeks, depending on how complex your existing systems are and how many integrations you need. Our IT department had a few questions for them but it was mostly smooth.

Are the Navan corporate cards actually useful? Like, do they really simplify expenses compared to traditional company cards?

A Adam Clark 2 weeks ago
OMG yes. The automatic expense capture is a game changer. No more chasing receipts for everything, it's linked right to the card. Saves so much time.

S Sean Scott 1 week ago
They're pretty good. The spending limits and policy controls are awesome, cuts down on out-of-policy spending big time. Plus, the real-time reporting makes finance happy.

Anyone compared Navan vs TravelPerk for a mid-sized company? Trying to weigh the pros and cons.

A Alex Taylor 1 month ago
We looked at both. Navan felt more integrated with the expense management side, which was a big plus for us. TravelPerk was good for just travel, but Navan felt more like a full package.

J Jeff Williams 1 month ago
Yeah, Navan's corporate cards and expense reporting are a huge differentiator. If you're just looking for travel booking, TravelPerk might be fine, but if you want to streamline the whole finance process, Navan definitely wins there imo.

thinking about switching from Expensify. How does Navan compare, especially for international travel and expense reporting?

S Sean Smith 2 weeks ago
Big upgrade, honestly. Navan's multi-currency support is way better, and the real-time reporting makes a huge difference. Never had issues with international transactions.

S Sean Davis 2 weeks ago
It's pretty solid. I like that the travel booking and expense are actually unified, unlike Expensify where it still feels a bit separate. Makes it less annoying for employees.

Does Navan really have better flight options than, say, just booking on Expedia or something? Trying to figure out if it's worth the switch.

B Brittany Diaz 3 weeks ago
From my experience, yeah. It pulls from a ton of sources, not just the usual ones. We've definitely found flights our usual travel agent couldn't get, especially for more obscure routes.

L Linda Sanchez 3 weeks ago
I've found it to be pretty comparable, sometimes even better for business class stuff. The main benefit isn't necessarily a massive discount over Expedia, but more about having everything in one place and policy compliance.

are there any promo codes or special deals floating around for new businesses signing up for Navan?

K Karen E. 1 week ago
Not really 'promo codes' in the traditional sense since it's a B2B platform. But they often have incentives for doing a demo, like an Amazon gift card. We got one a while back.
5
J Jason Smith 1 week ago
Yeah, check their site for demo offers. Also, sometimes if you get referred by an existing customer, there might be a bonus for both parties. Worth asking your network.

Thinking of switching our corporate travel to Navan. Anyone know how long the whole setup process usually takes, from signing up to actually using it for bookings?

B Brittany D. 2 weeks ago
It wasn't too bad for us. We're a medium-sized company and I think it took about a month to get everything integrated and everyone trained. Depends a lot on your existing systems, I guess.
6
J Joseph B. 2 weeks ago
Yeah, if your ERP is pretty standard, it's quicker. We had some custom stuff so it took a bit longer, maybe 6 weeks total? But the Navan team was pretty hands-on with the setup.

My boss wants to know if Navan offers a free trial or something similar before we commit. Anyone know if that's an option?

C Carol Young 4 weeks ago
I don't think they do a full free trial for the whole platform, but they definitely offer demos. We got an Amazon gift card just for watching it, lol.
1
P Patricia 3 weeks ago
Nah, it's more of a B2B service so not like a consumer free trial. You'd probably need to talk to their sales team for a custom quote and see if they can work out a pilot program for your company, but not a 'sign up for 30 days free' thing.
